In summer, Ibiza is considered as the epicentre of dance music, a place where nightlife and the latest musical trends live and breathe. On the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of July, a new concept in music events will take place on the island, the “Ibiza 123 Rocktronic Festival”.
A unique event with live music concerts and sessions with the best DJs on the scene in which rock and electronic music will fuse. The festival, which is celebrated in Ses Variades, Sant Antoni de Portmany, will focus on art and cutting edge musical trends.
Up until now, the island of Ibiza has so far lacked its own event to place it on the live music festival circuit, like the Primavera Sound and Sónar in Barcelona, FIB Benicassim or BBK in Bilbao. The concept of “Ibiza 123 Rocktronic Festival” is completely new, joining the biggest stars of rock and pop on stage, such as Sting, the former lead singer of The Police, which was one of the most influential rock bands of the 80′s; The multifaceted and multi-instrumentalist flamboyant New Yorker Lenny Kravitz and the famous composer and pianist Elton John; with the New Star DJs of the moment, David Gueta, Tiësto, Pete Tong, Luciano, Fatboy Slim, Tinie Tempah, M83, 2manydjs, among others, making up the big names on the poster.
Ibiza 123 Rocktronic Festival will have capacity for 20,000 people. The area will be completely covered by grass and there will be three concert stages. The main stage will have spectacular views of the sea and attendees will be able to admire stunning sunsets. There will also be a beach area with access to the sea, a relaxing chill-out area by the arch known as Café del Mar, VIP tents, a hippie market with local crafts, and restaurants and merchandising shops. Ibizan handicraft and product expositions will be organised during the festival.
The event will feature an exclusive area for the press, having provided thousands of contacts and connections through social networks like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, the presence of specialised journalists, and radio and television stations will broadcast the concerts.
